On the 26th of April 2018 Ella and Aurora got in front of my lens again for their intimate mother-daughter shoot... except this time, Aurora was out of mummies tummy!
Well, well, well... what can I say about this shoot? Oh, I know!...
...T E K O !
This was definitely a word that got chucked around during the shoot at least 500 times, but I loved it! Aurora has so much fire and so much character. I also learnt she has a great big love for animals, as you can see by some of the shots a little furry friend was jumping in the shoot too... that was their nana's dog named Kotiro, who is deeply loved by Rora and I'm sure by the rest of the family too!
This shoot was based at the back of Ella's grandparents house near Edgecumbe. We were nestled in long grass facing Mt. Putauaki and in the foreground is Rangitaiki which is the river that flows from the mountain. This is their Maunga so it was important for me to include their mountain and river in their photographs to show a deeper meaning to this mother-daughter shoot. On the other side of the river also lay their ancestors at Kokohinau which is their Marae. So you can imagine how precious and special this particular spot is for the Eruera family.
We started shooting at about 4:30pm and it was perfect, we were lucky enough to have a lovely day in general but the lighting at this time onwards is just great because its a lot more of a warmer and softer light! Which is key for my way of shooting!
Thank you so much to Ella and Aurora for the perfect photo session and for asking ME to do the honours. I feel so chuffed to have such amazing clients and friends such as yourselves! I hope you enjoyed our time together as much as I did!
